Creighton Calendar 2023 – OMAHA, Neb. () – Creighton University today announced plans to build a brand new freshman residence hall.

The $37 million building will be built on 23rd Street, south of Burt St., and will house 400 students. The project is expected to be completed before the arrival of the new class in the summer of 2023. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 11:30 in the morning This Friday at 23 and Burt St.

It will be Creighton's first freshman-only residence hall since the 1960s and the first of its new residence halls since 2006. The hall's opening will bring many benefits, including a suite-style concept which "allows you to be more independent. and has become a favorite choice of students across the country."

The accommodation will consist of two connecting rooms, two double bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a main communal kitchen. There will be tea kitchens on each floor as well as special areas for student development programs. Site preparation began on May 17.

Shift Creighton University President Daniel Hendrickson, SJ, said the new residence hall is an investment in Creighton's future by investing in its future students.

"The building represents a philosophical shift in how we accommodate our guests, with a style residence that allows privacy and community," he said. "The residential programs will also reflect our commitment to diversity and inclusion, with interfaith spaces and services that support student development, well-being and faculty."

Tanya Winegard, PhD, associate of student life, said the creation of an interfaith prayer space and two prayer rooms for Muslim students reflects Creighton's institutional commitment to diversity and diversity.

Spaces intended for wellness and academic support programs are an integral part of the new hall, while social life is facilitated by the construction of a raised outdoor courtyard, where meetings and events can be held.

In addition to campus life playing an important role in the college experience, Winegard said the new residence hall provides first-year students with a great environment to develop as they begin their journey with Creighton.

"We are delighted to meet the needs of our prospective students by creating a new home and a bright and modern environment for them to study with us."

The residence is a few blocks east of the future site of the CL Werner Health Sciences Education Center, which will serve as the new home of the School of Medicine and an interdisciplinary center for all Creighton schools and Colleges of Health Sciences. .

The university plans to resume private tuition in the fall semester of 2022. You can view the high school semester schedule for 2021-2022.

Welcome week is an orientation process that all students go through. Your students will be in small groups based on a first-year student advisor (or RSP advisor), who will guide them through a credit class called the RSP (Ratio Studiorum Programme).

Tuition is charged per semester. You can choose to pay tuition in one lump sum or with a payment plan. If you decide to pay tuition in one lump sum, it starts on the first day of school. If you choose a payment plan, the first due date may be before June 10 (depending on how many payments you choose).
