On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse begins over the Pacific Ocean and reaches the US in Oregon. After passing through California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, the path of the annular solar eclipse crosses Texas. People in the middle of the annular path of the solar eclipse will see a dramatic image of the Sun as a bright ring for about five minutes.

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse hit Mazatlán on the Pacific coast of Mexico for the first time. After crossing over Mexico, the total solar eclipse will first darken Texas at Eagle Pass. Those near the center of the total solar eclipse will enjoy a generous period of more than four minutes, nearly double the duration of the August 21, 2017 eclipse.
