Pausd Calendar 2023-24 – 800+ students from Frank S. Middle School More than 500 of them bike to school, and hundreds walk or jog. The streets before and after school are full of students! And we hope that everyone goes to school safely.

Pedestrians must check that vehicles have stopped at a traffic light or stop sign before crossing the intersection (even if the pedestrian sign indicates they are walking).

The roads are busy – sometimes, drivers are blinded by the sun, and cyclists and pedestrians cross in front of them.

According to California law, anyone under 18 must wear a bicycle helmet when using the following modes of transportation: bicycle, motorcycle, skateboard, bicycle, or passenger vehicle. Attend classes with parents.

Unfortunately, bike theft happens. All cyclists must lock their bikes, even when at the school's bike racks. Bike racks are locked during school hours and locked before school.

Signs and instructions for bicycle registration are available at the main office or on the Bicycle website. It's easier to register on a computer than on a cell phone because there's no app. Register for Palo Alto Heights and the City of Palo Alto.

Bike stickers are not required, but please help if PAPD or someone else finds the bike, as the QR code will provide information. The bike can still be identified by the serial number without the QR sticker. The bike can be registered and then a QR sticker will be affixed.

If your bike is stolen, go to the bike index and report it stolen. Contacting the PAPD can also help (check their hours first). Bicycle theft reports are not available on the PAPD website.

Walk in a straight line five feet to the left of the parking lot. Traffic in and out of parking lots can reduce drivers' visibility. The "Sharva" on the road indicates that the cyclist must ride outside the gate area.

Regardless of who is at fault, stay on the scene until help arrives. Conflict is stressful and it is often difficult to know what to do. It is recommended that you get immediate help from the police or your parents.

Pandemic Induced Enrollment Plunge Persists For Second Year At Local Public Schools

* When you fill out the form, you will be added to the email list of your school (Jaguar Trip) or PTA chapter (others) to receive advance notices and additional information.

The Jaguar Tour is an educational program for Year 6 students to learn 'how to'. It includes everything you need to know about middle school. .

Jaguar Tours will take place the first 2 days of school August 11-12, 2021 and are provided by parent volunteers! Most parent volunteer work is 2-4 hours.

The parents get together and have a party. Parties vary in size and can be for students, parents or a mix! Tickets are on sale to participate in the fundraising event, with all proceeds going to the GPTA. Some ideas include mother-daughter camps, playing video games, potlucks, and casino nights! Assistant Treasurer. In this role, you will work closely with our Treasurer, Caitlin Liao, to learn how PTA develops and manages our budget and expenses. The Asst. The Treasurer is also responsible for managing reimbursements for faculty/staff and parents using GPTA funds. We ask that the parent in this role continue as Treasurer for the second year (2022-2023).

United Communications. In collaboration with the other Vice President of Communications, you will oversee PTA communications, focusing on outreach and communication to parents to promote school and PTA activities, programs and events. If you are interested in sharing the voice of the PTA and the purpose of our community, this role may be for you.

Collaborative fundraising. We are looking for a partner for current VP Suzie van Valkenburg. This year we've joined the Just Party experience at box drives, bake sales and holiday markets and are looking for more ideas.

We want all students to ride safely, so the PTA is partnering with the City of Palo Alto's Safe Roads to School and Velofix to host a bike safety fair for our students.

Public schools are still seeing enrollment declines related to the disaster, but the decline is not as dramatic as last year. Some of the private schools in their assessment of money is a big increase in applications.

The Weekly Almanac and Palo Alto collaborated on a data project that looked at eight-year enrollment rates in local school districts. Although school enrollments have declined several times in recent years, the epidemic has led to an upswing in many areas.

California public schools collect enrollment data every October. The 2021-22 data was reported by school districts and yearbooks last week, as the state has not released final grades for this school year. Data from previous years is based on California Department of Education data. This academic year's number may be slightly oversubscribed.

Shounak Dharap Seeks Second Term On Palo Alto Board Of Education

The superintendent announced a decline in the number of families moving out of the district due to rising housing prices, as more parents are now able to work remotely and children are choosing to attend charter schools.

The 2020 U.S. Census also shows that as the population grows, the number of young people living in the Midpeninsula is declining.

Since most MidPennsylvania school districts are funded by local property taxes rather than student enrollment, the decline in enrollment does not reflect funding for those districts. If property tax revenue is not reduced, the district will receive more money for the remaining students.
