We'll explain exactly what many people's calendars look like, why they're useful, but we'll also explain why you can't rely on them 100% of the time. And if you happen to be at one of the Disney World parks on a very busy day, we'll help you avoid the crowds and make the most of them.

Disney's Worldwide Crowd Calendar is based on projected availability and provides exact dates when you're least likely to find the theme parks packed with people. There are many factors to consider when doing this, such as school schedules, events, holidays, etc. that will give you the best chance of going on the right days.
Traffic isn't the only thing to consider when planning your trip. For a more balanced view, read our guide to the best time to visit Disney World in 2022, which covers much more, including weather, park hours and prices, and much more. We rank our favorite months to visit from best to worst.

(Update 12/26/21) – We've updated our Crowd Calendar to reflect the latest crowd feedback for early 2022 and beyond.
Seaworld Orlando Crowd Calendar: Avoid The Long Wait Times!
As if planning Disney's 2022 public calendar wasn't difficult enough, last year's Disney World theme park closure made things even more difficult. To predict what will happen by the end of this year, we need to take a good look at what has happened since the season opened.

We'll find out if we see the same growth in 2022 as the population continues to grow after the parks reopen, or if they may fall back into the most projected area.
Just to be on the safe side, since the parks have reopened, any traditional Disney crowd calendar has been thrown out the window, as it's very difficult to predict attendance with any confidence at this point.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Disney World
Some of our predictions for 2021 came true (overall, it was one of the worst years in Disney World history), but for a number of unexpected reasons, we were also very wrong. Any predictions for 2022 should be taken with a grain of salt, as this year has been harder than ever to make sense of.
2021 has been an interesting year to say the least and we don't know how the population will react throughout the year. There are a lot of unknown factors, such as the current health crisis, the economy and the desire of visitors in general (not that this has changed for 2022).
Walt Disney World will continue the phased reopening of Disney's Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios in 2020. Things have not yet returned to normal, so Disney is still referring to the current stage reopening.

Overall, last year the population was much smaller than usual. Theme parks in 2020 sometimes resemble ghost towns. Although significantly less in 2021, if you go on the right week, most rides will have no more than a 15-20 minute wait to board.

In 2021, things started out quieter in January, then there was a slight increase in population in February, and things picked up even more in March and April when more people traveled for spring break and Easter. The parks were extremely busy during these months and despite the reduced capacity, the parks were still full.
There was a bit of a lull in May and June, and in July it felt like the usual Disney World crowds exploded. This is due to the increased capacity of the theme park and the return of fireworks to the parks.

If you really want to see the numbers, our friends at Thrill-data.com have great charts showing the steady year-over-year increase in expectations.
In the table above, wait times for the Magic Kingdom begin in 2020 and end in December 2021. The average wait for a ride was less than 14 minutes when the parks reopened, and reached 41 minutes late last year .

It was a big drop that happens every year in August and September. In fact, the average wait time for all attractions was just 20 minutes in September, the lowest in more than a year.
Is Universal Studios Busy In April
Celebrating October's 50th anniversary, he took things up a notch, not as much as we first thought.

Once the holiday season rolls around, the parks fill up again, with November and December last year being the busiest months since numbers 1 and 3 opened.
Does this mean the population will grow in 2022 and beyond? Yes, we think the chances of that happening are good.

Due to vacations and school schedules, the number of people increases from September to December in the spring and summer. However, the increases we have seen over the past year have witnessed the current health crisis, people are open to travel again and park capacity is increasing significantly.
The decrease in the level from last year is due to several reasons. Many local tourists were initially hesitant to make the trip, but after a few months, after seeing how Disney handled the changes and procedures, they felt comfortable with the idea. Some removed procedures, such as wearing face masks outside, may have helped attract guests willing to wait longer.

Additionally, many DVC members had to use their points from canceled trips in 2020 and earlier in 2021 and were "forced" to go to Disney World last year to avoid losing their points.
Disney World In January (2023)
Disney increased park attendance by 35% this year (the latest accurate figure). Yes, guests still have to use Disney's new Park Pass system to make park reservations, and numbers are limited each day, but crowds are normalizing.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently said they will soon increase the park's capacity "exponentially." This outlook was before the latest operation of new cases, but given the improvement of the health situation in the coming months, we expect the capacity of the fleet to increase again.
As Disney makes its parks more efficient at this "normal," Disney will gradually increase capacity to the point where they can safely operate the parks.

Initially, travel restrictions played a large role in the low population, but this is less so now that travel restrictions within the United States are less and the borders are open to foreign travelers. By 2022, people from Europe or South America will be more likely to visit WDW, which will help increase attendance.
Then comes the question of economy. At first we thought it was more of a problem and people not having the disposable income to go to theme parks and things like that. With consumers spending more and Americans saving more money than ever before, this has never been a bigger obstacle for visitors.

All of these are a combination of the population factors currently seen at Walt Disney World. Some of these factors should improve in 2022, and we predict that there will be more people in the parks than last year.
