West Point 2023-2024 Calendar – After receiving the support of GPS families and staff, Gilbert Public Schools will officially transition to a new academic calendar beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. The new calendar means students and staff have two weeks off for fall, winter and spring breaks. The board officially approved the new calendar in February 2021 after GPS families and staff showed support for the changes.

The school year begins on July 26, 2022, the first full day of school, eight calendar days from this school year. An earlier start ensures that students are given more opportunities for enrichment programs and educational activities as needed. Teachers will continue their professional development training at our school's universities in accordance with previous school calendars. During the extended fall and spring breaks, care was taken to ensure there were no disruptions to the learning environment.

West Point 2023-2024 Calendar

Gilbert Public Schools will now operate on the same schedule as neighboring districts including Chandler USD, Higley USD and Queen Creek USD. GPS students and staff will continue on Wednesday break before Thanksgiving break, as well as a short spring break. Vacation makes it easy for families to prioritize time and plan trips. For families concerned about childcare needs, Gilbert Public Schools continues to offer enrichment programs, youth athletics and summer camps.

How Much Each Circuit On The Calendar Pays F1

At the elementary level, plans are made at the beginning of the school year, when summer temperatures can make outdoor recreation a challenge. If there are days with a heat warning, GPS entry-level students will be indoors and provided with board games, videos, and other alternative activities to enjoy during breaks. Schools will determine appropriate interventions based on the needs of their students.

The new school calendar moves GPS junior track and field to four seasons, allowing each school to add boys volleyball to its sports roster. There will also be expansion of boys and girls soccer for seventh and eighth graders. The junior season of the game will be nine weeks, including the playoffs, with some changes to the schedule expected. Opportunities to develop athlete development will also be provided through Gilbert Youth Athletics. A preview of the 2022-2023 sports schedule is now available online. GPS athletes and families with questions about the impact of the calendar on student sports can contact the school's campus athletic director. The Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) will continue to oversee and administer athletics at GPS high schools.

The new schedule changes will also be in effect for the 2023-2024 school year. The first full day of school for this school year will be July 25, 2023.
