IDEA's response: "We have an internal cross-functional team working with local city officials to develop a plan to add crosswalks/warning lights to IDEA schools. These projects run throughout the academic year and are based on individual campus needs.

IDEA's response: "We believe the best school safety program is multifaceted, including emotional and physical safety. As the school year begins, several schools are using police assistance to keep campus safe and secure.

Parent Question: "Is there a social skills curriculum at school?" We have children with very poor communication skills, not to mention students with mental health issues. Instead of focusing on STAAR scores, schools should be more active in developing good citizens.

Response from MVISD: "MVISD is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all and we are always looking for ways to improve safety. A security assessment was conducted this summer at all eight OID locations in the Medina Valley. During this process, we met with campus administrators and staff to assess the safety of each school. Additions and updates are being made to fences, gates, doors, locks and other security measures to ensure we are as ready as possible for the start of the school year.

Safety remains our top priority for our students and families. All employees and families are notified that all doors to the facility are locked. We welcome feedback and suggestions as we want our parents and families to feel safe leaving their children with us during the school day.

NISD's response: "Although polling places have not yet been determined, our Board of Trustees has approved the 2022-2023 school calendar, which sets the general election date for November 8 as a student holiday and staff day."

As always, NISD will monitor the routes throughout the school year and make adjustments as needed.
