Austin Isd 2023-2024 Calendar – The Houston Independent School District Board of Education approved the proposed 2022-2023 school year. an academic calendar that extends spring break to April and moves the last day of the first semester to winter break.
The calendar includes one week of Thanksgiving, two weeks of winter, and one week of spring break. Students and staff will walk out on Labor Day, MLK Day, Chavez-Huerta Day and Memorial Day. HISD will also be on fall break on October 5th. and two spring breaks on April 7 and 21.
Austin Isd 2023-2024 Calendar
Trustees approved a grant from the Texas Education Agency to support high-quality after-school programming. $882,500 comes from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Response (ESSER) III funds that will be used to accelerate student learning in the wake of COVID-19. The dollars provide support in three areas: high-quality after-school services, technical assistance for after-school design and implementation, and consulting for high-impact curricula.
Dumas Isd 2022 2023 Calendar
Trustees approved a $100,000 charitable donation from the U.S. Soccer Foundation's M.C. Williams MS. Donations are made through It's Everyone's Game Foundation and Safe Places to Play. Products and materials will include the design of a single field system including LED light pole, play walls, built-in gates, storage, seating, polycarbonate signs, ADA accessible gates, micro acrylic field section with playful stripes and colors along with school logos.
The board also acknowledged donations from Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. The church will donate $30,000 worth of equipment to Blackshear ES, Cullen MS, Lawson MS and Yates HS. The goal of the donation is to fill a room at each school to help students in need. Clothes, toiletries and metro cards are provided. The stars return in the 2022-2023 school year when more than 900 students enter Year 16 at the Anne Richards School for Young Women Leaders.
