Udel Academic Calendar 2023 – If you plan to graduate from AAP in Spring 2022 or Summer 2022 (and attend the main campus in Newark), now is the time to declare your major! To request a change of major/minor, please complete the change of major/minor/concentration form found here.

Note: If you are interested in restricted majors, please note their prerequisites. If you do not currently meet the prerequisites, please see your academic advisor.

Arts Associate Full Circle Everest Expedition members Philip Henderson (Team Leader) and Eddie Taylor are excited and honored to join on Monday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. The Full Circle Everest Expedition is the first black team, who is trying to climb Mount Everest. They will join us to discuss their reasons for climbing, their experience in the outdoor industry, the importance of representation in the outdoor and STEM industry, citizen science, and their journey to this point in their careers.

Academic Calendar (dates And Deadlines)

Writing support: AAP faculty members Michael Aronowitz and Ph.D. Brandi Yates can help you with creative, professional, and academic writing, from short stories and poems to resumes, research papers, and oral presentations. AAP writing appointments are scheduled through the Blue Hen Success platform. See the Spring 2022 support flyer for more information and instructions for scheduling an appointment.

Math Support: Math tutoring for AAP students is offered Monday through Thursday during the Spring 2022 semester. The Math Learning Lab has AAP tutors and qualified tutors offering math support via Zoom. In-person tutoring is also available for Wilmington students in room 926 CEB. No enrollment required to teach math; Just visit udel.zoom.us/j/438989985. For more information, see the Spring 2022 Mathematics Support brochure.

Spanish Support: Starting Fall 2021, Spanish classes are now available to all AAP students. Dr. Stacey Harrington of the AAP offers Zoom tutoring sessions through which students can receive help with their work in Spanish 105, 106, and 107. Ud Pcs Guide To Programs, Spring 2022 By University Of Delaware Professional & Continuing Studies

We are excited to launch our Spring 2022 Speaker Series on Monday, February 21st at our regular hours (12:25 – 1:20 p.m.). Our speaker is our very own Ethan Joel. Ethan is a professor of English and psychology at AAP and recently published his first novel, A Little Hope. She's excited to chat about writing, publishing, and more!

The University of Delaware's Institute for Alternative Break (UDaB) immerses student-led teams in direct service and experiential learning with community organizations to advance knowledge of social justice issues and foster lifelong active citizenship. UDaB is looking for students to attend week-long service programs during Spring Break (Saturday, March 26 – Saturday, April 2)! Each program has a focus area that ranges from the environment to homelessness and neurodiversity and more, and includes significant training on such focus areas before, during and after optional breaks.

The deadline for applying to UDAB is Friday, February 18, 11:59 p.m., and you can find the application here!

UD's Extension Scholars Program offers UD students a 10-week summer learning environment under the guidance of Extension agents or specialists.

During this summer internship, students will follow the Cooperative Extension Service learning model implemented by one of four Extension staff program areas: 4-H Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Lawn and Garden, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. Cooperative Extension's mission is to help individuals, families and communities make informed decisions that can improve their lives. The organization generates and disseminates research-based information, provides targeted educational opportunities, and builds relationships that create effective solutions.

Any current student, after first year and into the following summer, is eligible to take part, and opportunities are available in Newcastle, Kent and Sussex counties. A mix of percussion styles historically practiced by African-American fraternities and sororities; traditional African dances; and transforms a range of contemporary dance and art forms into an integrated, engaging artistic experience. The performance is much more than a dance show; They integrate songs, storytelling, humor and audience participation. The combination of technique, agility and pure energy makes every performance unique and sets the audience's heart racing.

Leaders of the Free World (LFV) is hosting a virtual career conference for Black students focused on helping the next generation of global leaders thrive. The purpose of the event is to help black students navigate global leadership and provide information on the full range of opportunities available to them before and after graduation, especially those with a global focus. We will discuss study abroad opportunities, the Peace Corps, global business, scholarships (Fulbright), and other resources.

When Is The Fafsa Deadline 2022 2023?

The University of Delaware supports UD students and Delaware institutions by offering micro-internships, which are short-term, paid remote projects. These projects provide work experience and skill development for UD students and support local organizations. Micro-internships are funded through micro-grants provided by the Career Center for $600 for a 40-hour project or $300 for a 20-hour project.

Students enrolled in UD's undergraduate and graduate art programs are eligible for BlueHensWork micro-internships. Projects can start at any time, and students are selected through a competitive process from organizations that have posted a micro-internship opportunity. The coronavirus pandemic has pushed many higher education institutions (HEIs) to e-learning and emphasized blended learning in the short and long term.

This Week's Activities: 2021 22 Cosida Academic All America® Program

How do students with disabilities, students from different backgrounds and life circumstances deal with this situation and how do higher education institutions support them? What worked, what didn't work, what are the challenges for the future?

The Erasmus+ funded project TINEL (http:///tinel) has been investigating universal design for learning in blended and e-learning situations even before the outbreak of the pandemic. Our work has become more relevant after the pandemic.

In December, we will host a conference to share best practices and challenges for the future in supporting student diversity in the post-pandemic era of blended and e-learning in higher education.

The conference will be a mix of workshops, short presentations by the participants and the TINEL team about the work on the project. There will be plenty of time for networking and we aim to launch an ongoing support network of higher education staff to continue discussing these issues after the conference.

If you wish to present a 15-minute presentation, you may submit an abstract, although attendance at the conference is not mandatory.

Your presentation can be about a successful practice or a problem you need help with. At a conference, you can present live online or pre-record your presentation.

You can submit your abstract as a 500-word text using the available templates (in Word and PDF formats) or as a 5-minute video or podcast (there are also many short text documents to supplement with presentation information).

We will publish an online collection of all presentations from the conference. The proceedings will include an abstract and an optional recording of the conference presentation.

A special issue of the journal Interacting with Computers (https://academic.oup.com/ivc) will be organized and presenters will be invited to present longer versions of their work.

Frederic Fowett is Associate Professor in the School of Education and Technology at Royal Roads University. He previously held the position of Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island. During his PhD, he was the Director of the Office for Students with Disabilities at McGill University. He has also worked as a teacher and principal in the K-12 sector.
