Hacc Calendar 2023

Charles Comer, MA, is currently Associate Professor of Philosophy at Central Pennsylvania Community College, where he has been since 2008. Prior to his tenure, he taught at Carroll Community College in Westminster, Maryland and at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. in the fields of art history, humanities and philosophy. He enjoys fatherhood, teaching, skateboarding and surfing, and great books and art. He finds harmony and meaning in all these things.

Robert Reed graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1998 and immediately got a job. After a 20-year break from school, he started attending in the fall of 2019.

He has been on the Dean's List every semester since continuing his academic journey. He will become a candidate of applied science in paralegal studies. She hopes to work with and for the Innocence Project after graduation.
Harmony Kelly is a member of the nursing faculty at Community College of Central Pennsylvania. A native of Wisconsin, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 2012 to attend Johns Hopkins' accelerated nursing program and earn another degree. He previously earned a BA in history with a focus on early America through the Civil War.

During her senior year of college at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, she discovered that the job market for history majors was limited and was advised to pursue her other love, "nursing." She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins in 2014 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University (WGU) in 2018.
She began teaching as an adjunct in the summer of 2018, teaching clinical nursing at the Gettysburg and York campuses. He joined the nursing family full-time in August 2021. His hospital experience includes oncology (bone marrow transplant), medical surgery, neurology and cardiology.
She is a wife and stepmother to five children, four of whom no longer live at home. She enjoys volunteering at her church where she serves on the medical team, as well as helping people with their skin in her skin care business. Her future plans include a Ph.D. in nursing.

Drake Naylor is a social studies student. He is involved in activist work for the rights of LGBTQ people and people with disabilities. She plans to continue her education in social work and pursue a career in social work and therapy.

Hagir majored in electrical engineering at the Sudan University of Science and Technology before embarking on his journey. In 2001, she enrolled in nursing studies. In addition, the proximity to home and the flexibility of evening and weekend hours allowed him to work during his degree.
After transferring to Grand Canyon University to earn a bachelor's degree, he returned as an adjunct faculty member. This allowed her to give back by teaching nursing students in clinical placements. Building on his educational background and work experience, Hagir launched HSE Staffing Agency LLC in 2013. HSE Staffing is one of Central Pennsylvania's fastest growing and leading staffing agencies, receiving Harrisburg Magazine's 2017 and 2018 recognition for recruiting services only.

Hagir gives back to his community through his activism with the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg and the Capital Coalition for the Homeless. He also founded Tomorrow's Smiles Inc., a non-profit organization that fights domestic violence through awareness, education and motivational speaking. He is known for his YouTube shows The Hagir Show and T.S.O. As a co-host of conversations on these and other important topics. (Teens Speak Out) radio talk show. She also works as a domestic violence counselor in Cumberland County; volunteers with Meals on Wheels; and teaches CPR, First Aid and AED with the American Red Cross.
In 2017, Hagira received the Central Penn Parents Health Administration Hero Award for her work and was named in the Central Penn Business Journal's Women of Influence category. In addition, Hagir's fascinating journey from a small village in Sudan to his current success was covered in an article in The Berg magazine.

In 2019, Hagir received the highest alumni award – the Outstanding Alumni Award. The award recognizes the achievements of outstanding alumni who, through their personal lives, professional achievements and community service, exemplify "spirit" and are an inspiration to other alumni and current students. Hagir was also inducted into the Grand Canyon University Hall of Fame.
