Sbcusd Calendar 2023-24 – The committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's fireworks bag. We had a successful event and look forward to continuing this fundraising effort in 2023. The committee appreciated the volunteer assistance of the American x Japanese Cross Cultural Club at the University of California, San Bernardino. Members helped set up the booth on July 1st and worked closed shifts from July 1st through July 4th, contributing over 165 volunteer hours. AxJ Club members join the Tachkawa-San Bernardino Sister Cities Committee. The two organizations support each other and look forward to working together on future community projects. This year's student exchange has been a lot of fun and we are having a great time getting to know the Sun Girls. So far, students have painted pottery, interviewed Michelle Nolan from the Sun, participated in the Rotary Club, hosted at Shandin Hills Golf Club, celebrated together, visited Knott's Berry Farm and socialized. A long and fun weekend with your family. It's so interesting to see these girls watching American culture. We will post more photos during the month.

Thanks to everyone who attended our wine event on April 29th. A special thanks to The West Coast Independents for the event. You can follow The West Coast Independents on YouTube, Instagram and their website via the buttons below.

Looking back on the friendships and memories of the past two months, it's sad to say it's finally over. As a committee, we had a great time getting to know this year's San and Tachi kids. There was a lot of hugging at the Sayonara party, as is customary in Japan. But here we are not just friends, we are family! The San Bernardino Sister Cities Committee would like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers who keep this program going… We've made it through another summer and are gearing up for another batch of kids soon. Until then, Sayonara!
